Gynecology is the branch of medicine that deals with women’s health care. Gynecologists provide a comprehensive range of services that not only includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the cervix, ovaries, uterus, and vagina, but also issues such as contraception, family planning, menstrual disorders, menopausal complaints, and sexually transmitted diseases. Periodic gynecologic health-maintenance check-ups are recommended for all adult women.
