Dr. Esther Sofía Argüello Pérez is an Infectious Disease physician at Scarsdale Medical Group.
Earning her medical degree at Universidad Americana in Managua, Nicaragua – where she graduated cum laude – Dr. Argüello Pérez completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein Medical College, and her fellowship in Infectious Disease at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Having begun her medical career in Nicaragua, Dr. Argüello Pérez then began working as an attending physician in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Middletown Medical in Middletown and Ferndale, N.Y. She then worked as a hospitalist at the Jacobi Medical Center, followed by a position as an attending physician in Infectious Disease at BronxCare Health.
Dr. Argüello Pérez’s work has been published in such peer-reviewed outlets as Open Forum Infectious Diseases, Clinical Infectious Diseases, and the Cureus Journal of Medical Science.
Her clinical interests include the treatment of tick-borne diseases, diabetic foot infections, Hepatitis C, HIV and antimicrobial-resistant infections.
