Gary S. Raizes, MD, FACC received his undergraduate degree with honors from Harvard College. He earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. Dr. Raizes remained at Duke for his internship and residency in internal medicine. Following that training, he was a fellow at the National Institutes of Health at the Gerontolology Research Center of the National Institute on Aging. He pursued further sub-specialty training at the Mayo Clinic where he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Raizes is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is Chief (emeritus) of Cardiology at White Plains Hospital Center where he is an attending physician and is past president of the medical staff. He is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has been named in WAG magazine as one of the “Top Doctors in Westchester” from 2006-2010.
Dr. Raizes has a special interest in preventative cardiology, particularly in the management of hyperlipidemia and hypertension. His patients love his warm personality and sense of humor.
