How long does it take for my records to be released?

Once proper documentation is received, health records will be released within 3 to 5 business days.

Does Scarsdale Medical Group charge for my records?

If the request is more than 20 pages, you will be charged a flat fee of no greater than $25.00 plus shipping and handling when/if applicable. Anything under 20 pages is non-billable.

If I request that my records be directly transferred to a new physician, is there an additional charge?

We do not charge for transfer of records to a physician of up to 2 years or 30-40 pages. Files in excess of 40 pages will be charged at $12 per chart.

Can I mail-in a request form to release my medical information?

Can Scarsdale Medial Group e-mail the medical records to me?

No. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) does not allow Scarsdale Medical Group to email any patient records.

Can I see or review my records at any time?

Yes, you can request to review your records with your physician at your convenience.

We establish one medical record for each of our patients. That record includes all pertinent details about your care, including results of imaging and laboratory tests. This record is available to all Scarsdale Medical Group physicians at all times, resulting in greater continuity of care. All medical records are completely confidential and are not used outside of our Group without your permission.
